Vacuum the Day Away

There is no doubt about it that Landon loves and has always loved the vacuum cleaner. Even when he was a baby. Since he got a pretend Fisher-Price vacuum for Christmas he always runs to get his when I pull the vacuum out and he follows me around while I vacuum using his with mine side by side. He even imitates everything I do and will rest it up against the wall right next to mine when I stop the vacuum. It is so cute to watch! Well, yesterday I decided to get him a real vacuum cleaner at Walmart.....one of the $20 stick vacuums. He LOVES it and vacuumed up all of his crumbs in the kitchen after lunch today.....for 20 minutes!! This just might come in handy in May when Emerson is here and is fussy. Landon can make Emerson stop crying while he is preoccupied with something and is not throwing a tantrum!

Downtown Aquarium

We ventured out with my parents to Downtown Aquarium on Sunday to celebrate my birthday. Landon had an absolute blast of course, until it was time to get off the train, carousel, and go home, which is when the tantrums began. He could of stayed there all day!

Checking out the fish. He looked at this particular tank for a long time because it was so bright and colorful.

Helping Mom blow out her birthday candle and he later helped eat all of the ice cream.

Sitting with Daddy while waiting for our food.

The White Bengal Tigers. We sat on the floor right in front of the window and watched them forever. Amazing to see how huge they are up close.....their paws are massive!

Scuba Diver Landon.

Yuck, the Reticulated Python!! Landon kept dragging us back to look at it over and over. Not sure why since it was not even moving.

The family in front of all of the water fountains. Another favorite of Landon's. He even threw in a penny and made a wish.....probably to get to stay at the aquarium all day. :)

Checking out more fish before we left. Notice the expression on his face and the tears in his eyes. He knew we were leaving and he was NOT happy about it!

Riding the carousel with Grandpa and Grandma.

Riding the Shark Voyage train.

Getting a close up view of more fish and sharks with Grandpa. I think we may be getting a fish tank at home soon!

Emerson Reese

Well, the name is final......Emerson Reese it is! Of course I have already bought/ordered some cute girl things with her name on it.......it is so addicting!! I am going "girl crazy"! This was the girl name we had picked out before we even knew we were having a girl. But, we are thinking she will be called Emmie or Em for short, especially by Landon. I have been working on transitioning Landon from "sissy" to "Emmie" or "Em", but it is a work in progress. I think he is still a little confused with the whole baby, sissy, Emerson thing. He won't fully understand it until she is actually here. Which will be here before we know it!

This and That

Driving the car with Nana at Fajita Willie's while celebrating mom's birthday.

Another "cheese" smile. Do you think he has having fun?

Posing for the camera. Everytime I pull it out he goes around the playroom "posing" in various locations. It is so funny to watch as he goes quickly from location to location smiling like a little model. Do you think he has a future career? He definitely is a drama queen, that is for sure!

Here are some pictures of Landon having fun despite being sick and having a fever. Isn't it funny how kids can keep on playing even when they feel so crummy?

Building a block tower with Daddy. The best part is knocking it down after the picture was taken.

Cheese! This is Landon's "cheese" smile! Isn't it cute?

Again?

Well, Landon was getting better until Monday night. He was finally eating better, sleeping better, and not coughing as much until Monday night when he woke up moaning and groaning at 10:45pm. It continued until almost 5am as he could not sleep or get comfortable no matter what I did to help him. Tylenol did not work either as I thought it might be his last 2 molars coming in. By the time he woke up at 8am (after an unusual 3-4 hours of sleep......he is always a good sleeper) he had a fever again and was tugging at his ears while crying. Right then and there I knew his viral infection had "settled" in his ears AGAIN. So, off to the doctor we went again and after a strep test, flu test, and urine test, a quick look in the ears discovered a bad infection. Luckily he is better today, but still cranky. I think we are all ready for a good healthy day! I will hopefully take some pictures soon to post once all of the yuckiness is gone.

Yum.....

Landon enjoying some play-dough. I don't think he actually eats it, but he likes to smell it and put it up to his mouth (which always has drool since he is STILL teething......2 molars left to go!). Hence, the orange ring around his mouth!!

I don't have any other new pictures to post because Landon has been sick since Saturday. Poor guy.....it has been rough! He has lost over 2lbs. from not eating for 4 days and has not been to school all week. The doctor said it is just a bad viral infection and no antibiotics will work, only time. We might be finally turning the corner if we can get rid of this nasty, nasty cough.

It's a Girl!!!!!

Yes, we found out yesterday that our new little bundle of joy is a girl!! We are so excited as we secretly wanted to have a little girl to complete our family. Landon is excited, or as excited as a 2 year old can be, and says "sissy" all the time now. He supposedly gave it away to both grandpa's last night before we made the announcement at our New Year's Eve Party. The sneaky grandpa's asked him if he was having a brother or a sister and he immediately said "sissy", which I think was just pure coincidence. Of course Jason is on cloud nine since he really wanted a "daddy's little girl". Now the fun begins as we prepare, re-organize, shift, and totally re-do 3 rooms. We have some work ahead of us!! But, it will be fun nonetheless.

On another note, everything at my 20 week doctor's appointment and ultrasound went well. The baby is actually measuring ahead by about 5 days (as Landon did all the time and was born at almost 8 lbs. 2 weeks early) and all the organs, heart, cervix, and placenta looked good. She was moving around, stretching her arms above her head and clasping them together, staring at us, and chomping her mouth away.....so sweet! It took a while and a look at many angles to determine for sure that she was in fact a girl. But, the ultrasound tech. said she wouldn't tell us if she wasn't 100% certain. The baby did seem more quiet and less active than Landon did which is a good sign as Landon was and still is very feisty. We are hoping for a content baby girl with no colic or acid reflux! Either way we will still love her the same and with every beat of our hearts.
