New Years Eve

We had another fun New Years Eve again with our dear friends/neighbors.  There was tons of food, laughter, fun, craziness with lots of kids and pets running around, and of course fireworks.  The kids stayed up until after 12:30am having a ball playing and would of stayed up even longer if we let them.  Landon's favorite is the fireworks now, which is funny because he used to be terrified of them.  At Disney World when he was 5 years old he couldn't handle the fireworks and we watched most of the shows from the monorail.  Now he loves to go shopping for them and he even helped Jason light one or two.  He still covers his ears and is all serious though.  Emerson loves them too as she has never been afraid of them.  She wanted to light them all and helped Jason with all of them.  It was another successful New Years Eve!

Christmas Day and the Day After

Christmas was interesting this year.  Jason was in bed sick most of the holiday.  Christmas Eve he was in real bad shape so the kids and I drove around and looked at Christmas lights and then drove all over Cypress trying to find a place open for dinner.  After over 20 minutes of driving around we ended up at a Mexican Restaurant and had dinner, just the 3 of us.  It felt odd as we are always with family on Christmas Eve.  I joked that I felt like a single mom.  When Santa came Christmas morning Jason got out of bed for a few minutes to see the kids excitement with all of their gifts and then he was back in bed.  The kids played with all of their new goodies and then the three of us headed to Uncle Marion's house for lunch with that side of the family.  The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins, eating, and enjoying the mild weather outside playing.  Emerson enjoyed collecting rolly polly's from Uncle Marion's yard and then playing with them and taking them home in a coffee cup.  After that we headed to my parents house for more gifts and our traditional Christmas dinner of beef tenderloin.  Jason was still not feeling too hot so he just chilled on the couch.  The kids had fun again with all of their new gifts and spent the evening playing with them all.  The day after Christmas we went to Jason's parents for Christmas that we had to cancel on Christmas Eve.  More food, fun, and presents galore for all four cousins.  They always enjoy playing together with old toys and their new toys.  They love just being kids.
