February Take 2

Since the weather has been so mild we have been taking walks and bike rides.  Stormy likes walks but can barely make it around the lake once and she is pooped.  It is about 1.5 miles.  She is all over the place when on her leash so it's exhausting for me too.

Emerson has lost some more teeth.  At night of course and with drama.  She doesn't trust me and won't let me touch it or get near her so after hours of whining and complaining and freaking out, she pulled it.  And now she's much better at it.  Thank goodness!

While Jason and Landon were out of town for a Cub Scout trip to the USS Lexington, Emerson and I went to horse lessons, shoe shopping, a trip to Petsmart, and then lunch at Willies.  Of course she slept in bed with me too, her favorite!

For Girl Scouts Emerson attended World Thinking Day in February where each troop represented a country and we had a whole booth dedicated to Peru.  The girls spent weeks researching Peru, coming up with ideas as to what to cook and hand out, decorating a poster, and then handing out samples of quinoa and friendship bracelets the day of.  They then got to visit all of the other booths to learn about other countries too.  It was super cute and the girls all had so much fun.  She came home with a bag full of 20+ "swag" from the booths.  She tasted all kinds of food too.

How cute is she??  I can't stop taking pictures of Stormy.  She is a handful but so sweet and fun and entertaining.  She is my shadow and loves to be petted.

Emerson and her troop earned a painting badge at one meeting and she loved every minute of it.  Of course she painted a picture of Stormy.  It was pretty good too.

Sweet Landon has been helping Emerson again with her homework.  He normally is not the helping type with her, but he's been stepping up a lot lately for some reason.  Without me asking too.  Maybe it's because he loves reading so much.  These pictures make me smile.  You will notice Stormy is always close by not wanting to miss anything.

Creative Emerson one day (she always comes up with these crazy creative things to do all on her own) decided to pick some rocks from outside and all on her own she got paper and started chronicling her rock collection.  She named each "species", wrote down the size, type, color, and shape and then drew a picture.  I am assuming they did something like this in science at school.

February Take 1

Can't believe that February has come and gone!

One of the few times that the kids were getting along.  Landon was helping Emerson with her homework.  He was being so sweet and helpful.

Working weekly at horse lessons.  Trying to get Emerson back to cantering since her spill and fear of going fast.  We are almost there.  Trotting is not a problem or anything else.  There has been some "tough love" from Mrs. Julie and I.

A stop at Orange Leaf for their favorite.  Emerson fills her bowl full of only candy and oreos and chocolate.  Landon likes swirl froyo and toppings.

Emerson came home with a huge carrot from garden day at school.  She washed it off and fed it to Piggy who was appreciative.

Lunch at the kids school.  Never a dull moment with Emerson.

Stormy's antics in the car line.  She watches the kids the whole time and whimpers as they walk away.

Emerson had strep throat again so we were home and of course stopped at Panera Bread after the doctor's office for some lunch....and a cookie!  She will never be too sick to turn down a chocolate chip cookie.

Stormy and Piggy really are best friends.  It's so cute to watch them interact and wait for each other and respond to each other.

Any warm day is grounds for swimming.  The kids swam at Josh and Aly's house on our street after school one day.  It was still cold so they mainly stayed in the hot tub.

The rescue of the day, a lizard.  It is always some critter!  She comes running into the house full of excitement telling me of her find or frantically wanting a plastic cup.

Stormy seriously loves to watch TV.  I catch her daily, especially with sports.  This time it was skiing.

We also had a girl scout meeting that afternoon and Emerson discovered she loved quinoa.  Who would of thought she would eat two platefuls??  They were making food in preparation for their Peru booth for World Thinking Day.
