Annual Girl's Trip

Last weekend I went on my annual girl's trip with my dear sweet friends Tammy, Michelle, and Jennifer to Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop.  It was so nice once again!  It is our happy place.  We did not want to come home one bit!  :)  Really, it is so relaxing.  We lay out at the pool, float the lazy river, drink cocktails, read, chat, laugh, and eat.  At night we stay up late laughing and talking, eat breakfast in the Hyatt Club, eat poolside, snack on appetizers/desserts in the Hyatt Club, and then eat a late dinner/snack at Sheller's bar/grill while listening to live music.  Their food and drinks are top notch, the place is so clean, all of the staff are over the top nice, and you are treated like royalty everywhere you go.  I will continue to go to Lost Pines because they are the best, not to mention the whole resort is absolutely breathtaking.  Pictures do it no justice.  We wanted to go hiking and golfing or to the spa, but decided to do nothing but lay out and relax.  I want to take the kids back soon as I know they would enjoy it.  I have to admit though that it was nice to go layout and swim in the "adult area" and have no children to worry about!  I do believe I need this trip once a month!

Frozen Camp

Last week Emerson had a Frozen camp at My Voice and Piano, a place where they teach all kinds of music and vocal classes.  I wasn't sure how she would like it but I was pleasantly surprised.  There were 7 girls aged 3-6 including Emerson and her sweet friend Lillian.  I think it helped that Emerson was one of the oldest (and the tallest by several inches!).  She was a role model.  They learned all of the lyrics and motions to 2 songs from Frozen, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" and "Summer", Monday-Wednesday from only 4-5:30pm.  They also had some craft time.  On Thursday they performed their songs on the stage at a local church and got to get all dressed up in their favorite princess dress and wear make-up.  Princess Elsa was in heaven!  It was rather entertaining as the younger kids were all over the place being silly (like making potty noises and giggling into the microphone while nobody did anything!!!!!!), while Emerson did everything perfectly, followed directions, and even directed and told the other kids what to do.  I was so proud of her!  She wasn't nervous at all either and she said she wants to perform and sing more on stage.
