Whew, we have had a full but very fun summer so far. 20 days in and counting as it's flying by! So, this post will be a huge photo and video dump just from the first 2 weeks of summer, not including this week or last weekend...more of that coming soon. Emerson has continued her horse lessons every Saturday morning at 8:30am and she continues to love it and she shows the horses who the boss is. No fear or shyness and definitely no confidence problems AT ALL. She enjoys just doing her own thing, going wherever she wants guiding the horse all on her own. Of course she still enjoys visiting the many, many barn kitties before we leave. The first week of summer was chocked full of VBS at our church from 9-12pm each morning and Landon had Cub Scout day camp from 3-8:30pm Monday-Thursday. Add in there 4 doctor appointments and Emerson's first reading/writing summer class plus running errands. The kids were exhausted by bed time, that's for sure. VBS was awesome as usual. The kids left church each day excited and singing all of their songs pumped up about Jesus. Our VBS c.d. is on repeat in the car each day. Our church and all of the volunteers always exude love and excitement and put on an amazing VBS. No detail left undone. Scout camp was great too. Landon came home talking ninety to nothing about all he did. His favorite was the daily snow cones and the archery each day. He wanted that bulls eye SO bad and finally got it and a patch on the last day. He earned several patches and about 5 belt loops. They played soccer and kick ball, got soaking wet each day, learned about swimming safety, first aid, emergency preparedness, knot tying, good manners, archery, rope climbing, wood working/shop, etc. Each day was full of fun and learning and new friendships. On Saturday we attended our baseball leagues' all star game where two of our good friend's boys were on one of the teams as well as two of our players from our team. Emerson played on the playground with her friend Taylor while Landon kept score and ran the score board all by himself. He sat so still watching the game and was so focused on his "job". We were impressed and he loved it. On Father's Day we hung out at the house until the afternoon and went to Jason's parents house for a while and then headed to a delicious dinner at Pappadeaux. Emerson didn't eat much and laid in Jason's lap for a good part of dinner. That would explain the sickness that struck as we were leaving the house on Monday for Emerson's reading class. Fun times! I thought it was just from her not eating well and would pass by the time we got to class. Luckily, I was smart and while driving on the way home from class (she made it through class but the teacher said she wasn't feeling good the whole class and she looked pitiful) I quickly gave Emerson the book bag from getting library books with Landon "just in case". Seconds later it was full of throw up! I still had to pull over to clean up and again when I got home. However, 30 minutes later she ate a snack fine per her request and then later gobbled up dinner. Guess it was a few hour stomach bug! And, she didn't share it with anyone else. She's always the one that gets the stomach bugs. That week we also ran some errands, I had my allergies re-tested and learned that now I'm allergic to horses as that would explain all of my miserableness since March, met our friends Kathy and Jack Henry at Chickfila for lunch and play time, took a trip to Menchies for frozen yogurt, and played at home on Thursday and Friday per Landon's request. We had swim lessons on Thursday evening where Landon is doing incredible and missy needs some work. The kids also like swimming next door with their friends on the weekends. This time they enjoyed being silly and jumping in after counting each time. Landon also had his neurologist appointment in the medical center on Wednesday as well as a dentist appointment. I need to do a medical update on him soon. Crazy stuff and still no real answers. On to plan Z it is!
