Thanksgiving 2010

This Thanksgiving we hung around our house in the morning still settling in and then headed to my parents house for Thanksgiving lunch. The kids enjoyed playing outside in the mild warm weather petting the neighbor's cats (Emerson is obsessed with all bugs, animals, and babies!), playing in the leaves, and of course swinging which is always a favorite. We had a nice lunch and the kids loved playing and visiting with Uncle Andy. We headed to the old house to finish up some last minute things (the kids seem totally unfazed about leaving and are loving the new house to death) and then to Jason's parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. The kids once again had fun playing loudly and wildly with their cousins, it wouldn't be any other way with my 2 rowdy kids, and visiting with Uncle Marion and cousin Richard. Emerson just adores her baby cousin Weston. She has a thing for babies and wanted to always be near him, rock him, hold him, and wanted to know what he was doing at all times. She sure enjoyed holding him. She would be such an awesome big sister, but that isn't happening....too bad she wasn't baby #1. At night now when I'm rocking her she always says "I want to lay down like Weston" or "Hold me like Weston" as she sprawls out across my lap attempting to be held like a baby. :( I wish she still could. The other night she told me "I need a paci like Weston". So precious! We watched the Aggies beat the hell outta Texas as it was an awesome game. Whoop!! The kids were worn out by the time we got home and Jason and I finished watching the game after we got them in bed. What a great ending to a great day!

This poor cat is never left alone when the kids are over at my parents house. He even popped Emerson a few times with his claws and she kept going back for more....no fear!

Only in Houston do you see a butterfly eating nectar from a flower on Thanksgiving! This little guy hung around for a while and didn't seem too afraid of us as he kept coming back. Must of been some good nectar!

So proud of her baby Weston!

Landon's 5th Birthday Party

We ended up having Landon's 5th birthday party last Monday at 5:45pm. His party had been scheduled for a long time for Sunday at 3:30pm but wouldn't you know he woke up that day at 5:15am throwing up with the same stomach bug that Emerson had earlier in the week. What perfect timing and I spent all day making phone calls! The jump place where we were having it was closing down, which we had no idea, and Monday was their last day open. What great luck we have! So we were left with no choice but to have it on a Monday. Fortunately we have awesome friends and family and still had a decent showing as their were 11 kids. Thanks to everyone for being so accommodating and for making Landon's crazy party a success!! The kids all had a great time jumping and munching on pizza and cake.

Sweet Hunter....Emerson's boyfriend as they are always glued to each other!

Alden on the velcro wall...hilarious!

All the kids waiting in line to switch rooms

All of the fun jumpers and Landon still wanted to play with Megablocks! :)

A favorite game for all the dads....football!

How many grandparents does it take to get a scared kid up the wall? He thought it was funny to attempt to climb up and then fall down. Wasn't so funny when I made him go up to the top and slide down....a huge fit insued!
